Grant and I woke up to another unbelievably beautiful day. We had our morning coffee outside in the sunshine with the puppies while watching the leaves fall to the ground with silent grace. Afterward, we snuck out to squeeze in a run/ride at Borderland before taking the puppies to the vet for their last treatment.

Borderland was magically beautiful again. It felt like summer and looked and smelled like fall. The trails were covered with colorful leaves turning brown and the glassy lakes, with ducks and swans leisurely enjoying the sunshine, were lined with vibrant autumn trees. The birds were singing and the beauty of the natural wonder made the run almost effortless.

We got back to the campground, packed up Thelma and headed for the vet’s office for the puppies’ last treatments. Once finished, we took off for our next destination, Baltimore. It was to be a 6-hour drive and once Thelma stopped overheating it went pretty smoothly.

We spent the night in our dear friends’ Tim & Liz’s front

yard and got to catch up with them over a lovely dinner cooked by Lizzie. The last time we saw Tim and Liz, we had just sold our house and were contemplating the bus life. Two days after that, we bought Thelma. They were of course excited to check her out and offered plenty of encouragement and good wishes for our journey.
