Travel Day | Charleston, SC to Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort, SC

We’re heading off to Hilton Head this morning. Before we leave, I had a chance to check out a paddle board, but it was more of a robust rental type board and not what I wanted. I loved my Starboard WindSUP, but have struggled to find one new or second hand. The recreational (and fitness) equipment market is super hot and items like SUPs, kayaks and even bikes have been really hard to find.

We hit the road to HHI and have a seamless trip down to the Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort. Quite the RV gated community! It is a condominium structure where RV’ers own their own ‘lot’ and share the amenities such as heated pool, tennis courts, laundry and dog wash. There’s a nice little dog park that Phoebe, Mackie and Paige have been enjoying. We go to the nearest beach, Coligny Beach, which is surprisingly busy.

On the beaches the sand’s very fine and white but we end up leaving as the dogs get a little overstimulated. We go to check out another SUP and end up buying the Starboard SUP from a friendly local, Glenn. We grab dinner on the way home. We settle in and really appreciate the RV park’s outdoor setting and lush gardens.
