Travel Day: Palm Beach, FL to Key West

“On the road again, Just can’t wait to get on the road again!” And we’re off to the Keys!

We hit the road as early as possible to get a head start and drive down 95 onto US 1. This is an amazing part of the world and we absolutely love the trip to the southernmost tip of the U.S. The drive down through the Keys is amazing. Island after island is connected by bridges to make the archipelago complete.

The last island is Key West (always thought it should be called “Key South”). We have booked a site for three weeks at Boyd’s Campground and reached our site at about 3:30pm. It was windy in the Keys, but still warm with fresh winds blowing off the Gulf.

We situated ourselves in a tight little corner spot and enjoyed a walk with the hounds on the waterfront on the western side of the campground. This campground is quite big and crammed tight, but has a nice feel.

We explore a little with the dogs and settle in for a quiet night. The rigs here are more in keeping with our well worn bus.

There are a few expensive motorhomes, but the majority are middle of the road RVs, 5th Wheels and caravans.

We’re collectively looking forward to exploring Key West tomorrow.
