It’s Saturday and Jana and I are excited to spend time with Jack, Ellie, Ida and Wess today. We pick them up from the hotel and have a great Cuban lunch at “De Luna’s Cafe” an awesome, clean, well equipped food which appears to be permanently located at Boyd’s Campground.
We’ve decided to rent a stretch Golf Buggy to tour around the island with Wess and Ida. They seat six, so that’s perfect. We rented it from Papa’s Scooter Rentals and head off to circumvent the island. We follow the eastern shoreline and take Ida and Wess to Higgs Beach.
We check out Duval Street and revisit “DeLa” Jorge Torriente’s gallery and we get into Peter Lik’s Key West gallery. Jack is incredibly inspired and Ellie truly appreciates the beauty of this photographic art. Ida and Wess are also taken by the works.
We make a mandatory stop at Flamingo Crossing and head down to the Truman Annex. The sun’s getting low in the sky and we checked out the US Coastguard Cutter, Ingham (WHEC-35) from the shore. The kids (I don’t usually call them that intentionally, because they’re not kids anymore) jump in the jungle gym and generally horse around. It’s awesome to see them having fun and letting their hair down around us all.
Wess and Ida head back to their hotel with the buggy and we chill in the RV. Jack’s working out how to operate the drone and Ellie built an awesome ginger bread house. Jana and I crash as we want to get up to catch the sunrise in the morning and have an early paddle as the winds are significantly abated.
Jack is incredibly inspired and Ellie truly appreciates the beauty of the fine art photography.

Sailing Tahiti to Australia | Month 2 FP
Here is what our second month living on our boat, Hanavave, in Tahiti, French Polynesia, was like.
Our trip to Australia was delayed due to port closures throughout the South Pacific. We spent the month making improvements to Hanavave so that we could make the passage to Australia with fewer stops.
