New Orleans, LA

ODOMETER: 81,630  | MILES TRAVELED: 3,685

It’s a quiet start to the day. Jack and Ellie are sleeping in and Jana and I decide to take a walk down to the riverfront. New Orleans is relatively quiet as it nurses its hangover.

There are remnants of fireworks littering the streets and plenty of Hurricane attesting to the night’s festivities.

The Mississippi River never fails to impress. It is such a huge body of water and watching the ships, tugs and barges ply their way up and downstream you realize it is still a significant lifeline for commerce.

We walked past the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas on the waterfront and wend our way back to the RV park. Being able to walk from the RV park is awesome and the location of the park has been wonderful.

Jack got his drone out for the sunset and got some amazing shots and footage of New Orleans. He’s getting quite adept at operating the drone and seems to really enjoy the challenges of flying, videoing and photographing.

We reheat Jana’s famous Chicken Noodle Soup and settle in for an early night. We’re off to Lafayette tomorrow on our way across Louisiana toward Texas.

Why We Sold Our Home to Live on a Bus and Travel Full-TimeAt any other point in time, the decision to sell our home and move into an RV to travel the U.S. full-time with two teenagers and three dogs might be quite ridiculous. But in these unfathomably complex and...
