Big Bend National Park, Terlingua, TX
ODOMETER: 82,789 | MILES TRAVELED: 4,844
by Grant
We took the dogs up to Indian Head Road and found a dry creek bed where we let them roam. They ran and frolicked and generally were silly. It’s great to let them off leash and not stress about other dogs or imposing on anyone with their antics.
We returned to the RV, gathered the troops and set off for Big Bend. We planned to drive the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive and it turned out to be spectacular. We had a wonderful greeting at the park entrance from the Ranger and spent most of the day stopping and taking photos and video of the amazing sights Big Bend has to offer.
We came back via the Old Maverick Road which was unsealed, and Jack drove. He loves driving the Jeep anytime, but off-roading especially. We got back to Terlingua around 4pm and gave the dogs a much needed walk.
We were all feeling pretty tired after a big day in the park and decided to pass on a run/ride and take care of some posting and dinner.
Jana cooked up a great batch of scrambled eggs and spent the rest of the evening working through photos and videos for the blog and social media channels.
We planned to drive the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive and it turned out to be spectacular.
