Building & History

History

Catamaran Athena 38, built in 2002 by Fountaine Pajot shipyard in France, production No 173.

The yacht did charter work initially in Croatia and then sold to a private owner who later sailed her to French Polynesia.

We sailed her from Tahiti to Brisbane in September/October 2021.

Strengths

• Very robust and easy to handle catamaran with proven ocean going capabilities
• Easy steering due to position of Props in front of the rudders
• Engines and Saildrives in excellent condition, even with high engine hours
• Excellent sailing downwind
• Acceptable (catamaran) upwind sailing
• Ideal catamaran for coastal cruising or ocean passages
